Born and raised in the Bay Area, I am a product of the SRVUSD. As a child, I attended Rancho Romero where my love for art was cultivated by my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Suwannath. I continued my education at Stone Valley Middle School and, following in the footsteps of my two older siblings, graduated from Monte Vista High School. Wishing to stay close to home, I commuted to San Francisco State where I graduated Summa Cum Laude and received my B.A. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Art Education, specializing in Drawing and Painting. I then returned to SFSU to obtain my Single-Subject Credential for Fine Arts.
When I started my teaching career, I went back to my roots and worked at Monte Vista High School teaching Art 1 and the “ancient art” of Black & White/Darkroom Photography. In 2009, I moved to Dougherty Valley High School. In my time here, I have taught 3-D Art 1, 2, 3, Digital Photography, Yearbook, Art 1 and AP Art History.
In my spare time, whenever that may be, I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, and experimenting with my own artwork including: photography, ceramics, drawing, painting, and sewing. I also enjoy the art of music including singing and playing the piano.
